POLICE are hunting a jewellery thief behind a brazen afternoon grab-and-run from Clyde Shopping Centre.

Items were stolen from Ramsdens before the suspect, described as being aged in his late 20s to early 30s, made off into the car park.

Around 1.30pm on Tuesday, April 25, the man entered the shop and asked to examine some items. When they were in his possession, he ran out into the centre, then left into the car park in front of Empire Cinemas and Asda and then in the direction of Argyll Road.

The suspect is said to be white, medium build with short dark hair. He was wearing dark coloured clothing and spoke with a local accent.

Officers are reviewing CCTV images from the shopping centre for additional information.

Detective Constable Anthony Adams said: “The centre would have been busy with shoppers at the time of the incident and many will have seen the man run through the shopping precinct.

"I am appealing to anyone who was within Clyde Shopping Centre on Tuesday to contact us with any information which could assist our investigation in trying to locate this man.”

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Clydebank CID via 101 and quote incident number 1600/24. They can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
