Bankies needed to help major clean-up project in the Knowes
HELPFUL Bankies are being urged to take part in a major clean-up project.
Community activists have urged locals to help clean up the Knowes, between Faifley and Hardgate, in order to boost its chances of being labelled a Local Nature Reserve similar to the Saltings in Old Kilpatrick.
Last year, 20 volunteers collected more than 75 bags of rubbish plus larger objects but the lack of official status means it is largely neglected. A clean up the Knowes campaign has been organised by West Dunbartonshire Greenspace for Sunday, April 23, between 10am and 2pm.
Those wishing to take part will meet in the car park beside the Westhill Hotel, opposite Tesco, in Hardgate. Litter pickers and gloves will be supplied. All are welcome.
