AND they called it puppy love in Drumchapel as dozens of youngsters attended an Easter animal workshop.

Pets at Home hosted the eager animal enthusiasts and special guests Royalheart Greyhound Rescue whose pups were the stars of a meet and greet last week.

Two dogs – Brioche and Big Dom – looking to find their forever home came along on to support the event.

Manager Steven McLoughlin said he was “delighted” to welcome the children and the rescue group to the store as part of just one of their Easter holiday workshops.

Youngsters have been encouraged to go along to the Great Western Retail Park store for their chance to meet a variety of animals – including hamsters, rabbits, gerbils and guinea pigs.

However, the focus on this year’s workshops will be rabbits – particularly around Easter time.

Staff will work to ensure families understand the specific needs of the animals before taking the furry pets home so the cuddly creatures won’t be up for adoption over the Easter period.

The Royalheart Rescue, which is run by animal lover Rachel Anderson, is based at Langbank and has kennels for 11 dogs.

Anyone interested in adopting Brioche or Big Dom from the Royalheart group should contact them directly via royalheartgreyhoundrescue.com.
