BRAVE Bankie Kayla McCulloch is ready to collect the youth champion award at the 2017 Provost Civic Awards tonight for her fundraising and awareness efforts.

Kayla, who has a rare condition causing her immune system to attack her liver, has raised more than £2,000 for other children with liver disease, and joins dozens of others from across West Dunbartonshire in being honoured on the night.

Proud mum Elaine said: “We cannot be prouder and can’t thank everyone enough who nominated Kayla especially Kilbowie Primary School and 6th Clydebank Brownies.”

Provost Douglas McAllister said: “It is always pleasing to receive a great response from members of the public. We all know people who do so much in our communities, to help and make life easier and most of the time these members of the public go unnoticed.”

The awards take place at Clydebank Town Hall.
