ATTENDANCE levels of West Dunbartonshire Council employees have improved, according to a new report.

A new report illustrates a 3.3 per cent reduction in the number of employees failing to turn up for work based on the same period last year (October to December).

The report, which went before to members of West Dunbartonshire council’s corporate services committee said: “It is recommended that the committee note the content of the report and the attendance results for Q3 2016/17, namely a decrease of 337 FTE (full-time equivalent) days lost (3.3 per cent) compared to the same period last year.

"Improving attendance at work is a key strategic priority for the council requiring commitment from elected members, strategic leadership group, trades unions, individual managers and employees.

“The council has made a commitment to improving attendance levels by setting ambitious targets of reducing days lost for Local Government Employees to seven FTE days lost per employee by 2017, and five FTE days lost for teachers.”
