HORROR enthusiasts will have the chance to meet the author behind a gory trilogy set in Clydebank and Drumchapel at an upcoming book signing.

David Sloan will greet fans of his Go To Sleep series at Dalmuir Library on March 31 to sign books and answer questions on his novels.

The event comes just a few months after the 36-year-old released the third and final novel in the series, Go To Sleep 3: The Final Conflict.

Readers are taken on a tour of the two areas with his tale, Go To Sleep, which tells the story of three killers, two brothers and revenge on their parents after years of torment.

Also woven into the plot is a suicidal man who looks for help before becoming embroiled in a “sick and twisted game”.

The dark tales have already featured locations that will be well known to Post readers, including the Titan Crane, Forth and Clyde Canal and Drumchapel High School – which the former pupil of the school used as the setting for the second novel’s bloody massacre.

David, from Dalmuir, added: “Clydebank has always been the town in the book and there was the big massacre along Sunset Boulevard or the ‘Boulie’ in the first book, then Drumchapel High School so this time around it’s the shopping centre that gets it.

“It’ll all take place in Asda.”

While he has no intention of putting down his pen just yet – with plans for a zombie-style horror due out this Hallowe’en – he’s enjoying being able to spend time with fans.

He said: “I’ve done quite a few book signings but locally this is one of the first. It’s good fun. People ask me where I get my ideas from and what’s the name of the next book, when it it coming out, will I do another one – they ask loads of things. This is the last part of it but I’m planning on doing a follow-up, although not for a long while.”

The Go To Sleep series is available from Amazon or direct from the author.
