THE funeral of a man who was found dead in a Knightswood flat last year will take place today.

Brian Martin was discovered in his flat in Lincoln Avenue on November 7 after concerns for his well-being were raised by his family.

Police immediately launched a major investigation into the 34-year-old’s death after the discovery.

It is understood he died a few days before his body was discovered.

His funeral will take place at Glasgow crematorium in Lambhill at 11.15am and the family will remember Brian at the Rosevale Bar in Partick, report our sister paper the Evening Times.

Funds were raised for the funeral by his heartbroken sister Kelly Martin who described her brother as a “bubbly character who never had a bad bone in his body.”

She said: “He was my brother but also a father, uncle and great uncle to a family who loved him very much.”

Members of the public expressed their condolences to the family, who are from Whiteinch.

Graeme Preston said: “God bless. I did not know Brian but I came from Whiteinch. Feel for your family.”

Leigh Mcmahon said: “I remember you and Brian from way back, and I remember how close you both were.

“So sad to hear what happened.”

A man was remanded in custody in connection with the death on November 30 when he appeared during the full committal hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
