WEST Dunbartonshire spends £9,000 per kilometre on roads maintenance – ninth highest of all councils in Scotland, according to a report.
Details for councillors next week outline the deteriorating condition of Scotland’s roads networks while the local authority has seen a marginal improvement of its roads, including trunk roads, by 0.5 per cent.
Under a report by Audit Scotland and the Society of Chief Officers for Transport Scotland, the quality of local roads ranged from 68 per cent to 86 per cent rated “green”, depending on type.
Less than four per cent were “red”, or poorest.
