TWO more men have been arerested in connection with the alleged attempted murder of two Drumchapel police officers.

Police earlier arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the incident.

But have now said two others, aged 24 and 30-years-old, are also in custody.

The incident which happened in Knightswood’s Banner Drive at around 11.15pm.

Police constables Deborah Lawson and Robert Fitzsimmons were allegedly deliberately knocked down while responding to a call on the street.

PC Lawson, 30, was left with multiple broken bones when the blue Nissan Quashqai car allegedly hit her and reversed back over her.

PC Fitzsimmons, 31, was also injured in the alleged attack but managed to free his partner from under the car’s wheels before he collapsed.

All three men are expected to appear at Glasgow's Sheriff Court on Monday.
