A MAN has been arrested for an alleged string of Scotstounhill break-ins where he reportedly defecated in the properties and stole thousands of pounds worth of goods.

A total of six flats were broken into or attempted to be broken into with the intent to steal at numbers 40, 50 and 60 Kingsway Court after the accused the fire doors to gain access to the properties.

Throughout the period of July 25 to August 5, numerous laptops, tablets, mobile phones and cash were stolen from the homes.

Goods totalling more than £1000 were stolen from just one property – and at least two of the properties were defecated in.

The 23-year-old man was charged with the offences on Friday following his arrest two days prior.
