A BUS passenger who had outstayed his ticket made a stabbing gesture to staff when he was asked to leave.

Police are investigating the incident on August 9 around 2.30pm on when the bus was in Barns Street.

Other passengers said to the ticket inspector that someone was drinking on the bus and the man had passed the point for his ticket.

When he was spoken to, he shouted and swore and gestured that he would stab the inspector.

The man got off the bus near the shops in Barns Street and is described as 5’9” to 5’10”, slim, with dark brown hair, blue jeans and a light blue T-shirt.

CCTV is being examined and witnesses are asked to contact police by calling 101.
