THE mum of a Dalmuir man last seen more than a week ago is pleading for the public to help find him.

Margaret McGonagle said it was a “very stressful” time for the family, worrying about the whereabouts of William McKenna, also known as William Little.

The last confirmed sighting of the 39-year-old was on Saturday July 16, near his home in Durban Avenue, around 5pm.

A new CCTV image from Burnside Court shows him after visiting a friend shortly before returning home.

William, who was well known in Dalmuir where he has lived for five years, was usually out with his dog, Zack.

But Zack, a Staffordshire/terrier cross-breed dog, was left behind in his home and is now being looked after by a friend.

Margaret, 63, told the Post: “It’s just a mystery. He has never disappeared before. He was always out with his dog – he would never leave the dog.

“It’s very stressful not knowing what’s happened and wondering where he is.

“I would ask people to rack their brains. Any small thing at all, if you think you have seen him or might have, please get in touch with Clydebank police.”

She added: “There’s not much anyone can do but wait and hope. We want him home. We want him home now, wherever he is.”

William, a former Dumbarton Academy pupil, is described as white, around 5ft 10 inches tall, with a medium build, and short brown hair. When last seen, he was wearing a light coloured top, grey jacket and dark coloured track suit trousers.

He has tattoos on his arms.

Police said it was very unusual for him to leave Zack unsupervised and his family had grown increasingly concerned.

Officers are investigating reports that William was seen on Tuesday, July 19, but have not been able to confirm them.

Inspector David Quinn said: “Police Scotland are conducting extensive inquiries into the whereabouts of William McKenna who was last seen near his home address just after 5pm on Saturday, July 16.

“There have been several other sightings reported, on July 18 and 19, which are being investigated. This is obviously a distressing time for his family who are concerned for his wellbeing.”

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Clydebank Police Office on 101.
