STEP right up folks and prepare your eyes for the most magical show on earth as the famous Zippos Circus rolls into town.

For six days next month Victoria Park will become home to some of the most talented creatures in the world and audiences have the chance to nab a front-row seat to watch the spectacular, death-defying stunts up close at the Celebration tour, marking the company’s 30th anniversary.

From France, and for the first time in the UK, Zippos presents Roseline and her talented family of rescue cats in a feline display high on natural agility, balance, comedy and cuteness.

The cats work in teams of six and each has its own speciality, with stars of the show Felix, who performs a high leap, and Junior, who was found as a kitten abandoned in a French shopping centre, walks a tightrope.

The cats live in their own roomy bespoke heated trailer with free access to their own outdoor play area.

Also on the four-legged front, comes the incredible horsemanship of Boris Borissov with his pure white larger-than-life horses.

Two of the Percheron horses were saved from the slaughterhouse by Boris at the last moment and now Boris and his troupe display an astonishing array of equestrian skills as well as juggling and acrobatics on horseback.

Not to be outdone, human skills feature aplenty in the new show, including eye-popping thrills from Brazilian Alex Michael, one of the few trapeze artists in the world who works without a safety net high above the circus ring, Czech husband and wife duo Toni and Nikol with their nail-biting knife-throwing routine and the Duo Galaxy from Germany with their terrifying “Wheel of Death” – firm favourites at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.

Visitors can also enjoy comic antics from the circus’ new Italian clown Mr Lorenz, the unique comedy style of Alex the Fireman, tumbling from Kenya, foot juggling from Italian beauty Romy – all of which will be hosted by Norman Barrett MBE, a Ringmaster extraordinaire with his cheeky performing budgerigars.

The circus’ UK tour will stop off at the Scotstoun from Tuesday, August 9, to Sunday August 14.

The tent curtains will open at 7.30pm each night except Sunday, 5pm from Wednesday to Saturday, 3pm on Saturday and Sunday, as well as a noon show on Sunday.

A free open house will also take place at 11am on Wednesday, August 10.
