CONSTRUCTION of a new Clyde-side centre aiming to train 5,000 people a year is sailing ahead.
Clyde Training Solutions (CTS) are building a £3 million facility, the first of its kind in central and southern Scotland, to train workers for the oil and gas industries.
The site, near the Golden Jubilee, will include a training pool, pictured on the left, HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training module), and a full fire training ground including a training stack and helideck to meet top industry standards.
It is hoped the regular influx of personnel for training could benefit other businesses in Clydebank and attract a hotel development at the Queens Quay site.
Colin McMurray, CTS director, said: “Over the past two months there has been significant development at the site with our training pool building noticeably now starting to take shape.
“We are confident our comprehensive range of courses and top class facilities will attract marine and offshore workers from across the UK and beyond.”
The project has also included renovation of the upper floors of office building Change House with newly hired office-based staff now located in the building.
