A MAN has admitted to being nearly five times the legal drink limit while driving in Old Kilpatrick.
William Bonner was caught on the A82 at around 12.40pm on June 22 and also had no insurance for the van and the registration details were incorrect.
The 54-year-old, of South Street, Greenock, spent much of his adult life in England but returned and now lives with and drives his 77-year-old mother when needed.
Bonner had been assisting a friend in Clydebank and went out drinking, but it was a “misjudgement” of how much alcohol would still be in his system, heard Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week.
Sheriff Craig Turnbull disqualified Bonner for 12 months, and endorsed his licence and also fined him £300.
