EMPIRE cinema in Clydebank has won a national hospitality award for “impeccable” service.

More than 200 guests attended the black-tie Scottish Hospitality Awards at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow, on Monday, 13 June, to celebrate the venues offering the best customer service in Scotland.

The local Empire movie theatre won “Best Cinema Experience”.

Empire general manager Suzanne Hills said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received this award. We are a small chain in a very competitive Scottish cinema market and to have come out top against our competition is a fantastic achievement.

“The local community and our customers are at the heart of our business and without them we would not have a business.”

“Our team pride themselves in delivering the best customer service and experience that we can and we are always looking at how we can improve this.

“We would like to thank all of those that voted for us and all of our customers that give us their business week in week out and hope that this will continue for many years to come”.

Awards in 29 categories included victories for Glasgow’s Hotel Du Vin, Blythswood Square Hotel, Cail Bruich and The Pot Still. Loch Lomond Shores was also recognised as the Best Day Out in Scotland.

Irfan Younis, event organiser, said: “This is the first time this ceremony has taken place and it is a testament to the depth of talent in this industry, that so many people joined us this evening. The awards were well received and we hope to see this event grow year on year. Congratulations to all the finalists and the winners.”
