A PLANE flying to Glasgow airport narrowly avoided hitting a drone, a new report has revealed.
A UK Airprox Board report, which handles near miss incidents, revealed the incident from around 3.50pm on March 6.
The Boeing 737 pilot had "no time to take avoiding action" and passed 100ft above the drone as it was descending to the airport.
At the time of the near miss, it was flying around 1200ft above the ground, close to Clydebank.
The investigators said there had been a "definite risk of collision" and the drone had "contravened regulations" by endangering the aircraft.
Civil Aviation Authority regulations advise drone owners to "stay well clear of airports and airfields" and not to "fly your unmanned aircraft in any way that could endanger people or property."
