A 23-year-old man was sent to hospital at the weekend from a vicious attack from behind.
The man was believed to be walking along a lane between Esslemont Avenue and Queen Victoria Drive in Scotstoun, just before 6pm on Saturday, when a man approached him and hit him on the head.
He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and was later released after treatment.
The suspect is described as white and in his 20s.
Police are now appealing for information and witnesses while they review CCTV and carry out door-to-door enquiries about the incident.
Detective Sergeant Raymond Sagan said: “This is a busy area and there would have been plenty of people around who may have witnessed the attack or who may have information on the suspect.
"I am urging anyone who has was in the area at the time, perhaps driving through or walking in the area to get in touch with us, you could provide us with vital information which could assist our enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Drumchapel Police Office on 101. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
