PUPILS from Knightswood Secondary have been helping give bats a home.

The project, working with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Scotland and Glasgow City Council, is part of the Give Nature a Home campaign and sees six schools across the city focusing on different species.

In a report to the sustainability and the environment policy development committee at Glasgow City Council, Knightswood was noted for learning more about soprano pipistrelle bats as the region aims to transform spaces into biodiverse havens. Their work aims to benefit the bats so they can flourish.

Thousands of young people across Glasgow have taken part in field teaching sessions and outreach activities in green spaces in the past year.

The project has gained funding for another year and hopes to develop.
