A CLYDEBANK funeral director made sure the Blitz memorial in Old Dalnottar Cemetery was sparking clean for the events over the weekend.
The masonry department sorted it out earlier this month so on the 75th anniversary it would look as it should.
The memorial had become degraded, stained and generally dirty, requiring the aid of professional cleaners, who used acid to return its natural tone.
Catherine Hollinsworth, manager at the Co-op Funeralcare Dalmuir, said: “We’ve done this out of respect and to remember those who lost their lives 75 years ago in the blitz. Funeral Arranger Steven Murray at our Dalmuir Branch liaised with Bob McLeish of West Dunbartonshire Council for the past few months to ensure the stone was cleaned and maintained for the forthcoming service. Our mason done a brilliant job of cleaning up the memorial.”
