SKY high repair bills for tower blocks in Dalmuir will likely outweigh the cost of security, a community councillor claims.
Danny Lennie, vice-chair of Dalmuir and Mountblow Community Council, brought the matter up at the body’s meeting on Thursday, March 3.
Community councillors discussed antisocial behaviour, youth disorder and crime blighting the tower blocks in Dalmuir. Members are now going to look into carrying out a feasibility study on a concierge service.
Mr Lenny claimed a repair bill and cost of calling out emergency services will likely be more than the cost of 24-hour concierges.
Councillor Kath Ryall of Clydebank Waterfront, will investigate the cost of repairs to the council properties.
Mr Lennie, a resident of the blocks, said: “We’ve spoken about getting a concierge service, but it’s all down to money. It will cost a lot but we need to look at the bigger picture.”
