Two elderly women are in a "serious condition" in hospital after being injured in car crash in Clydebank.
The accident happened on the A814 Dumbarton Road near Hall Street at around 5.40pm on Sunday.
An 88-year-old woman was driving a Vauxhall Corsa which collided with a bollard.
Police said today that the driver and her 93-year-old passenger remain in a serious condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow as a result of the incident.
Officers are appealing for information.
Constable Hugh Niccolls from the Divisional Road Policing Unit in Dumbarton said: “This was a serious incident which resulted in two elderly woman requiring hospital treatment.
“We are still trying to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision in asked to contact officers at the divisional road policing unit in Dumbarton via the 101 number.”
