Police officers interviewed hundreds of people in Clydebank yesterday in a bid to find a man who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Stuart Clark, 59, was last seen on Sunday, January 17 at a friend's home at Park Road, Dalmuir.

Clydebank Post:

Clydebank Community Police officers carried out a stop and speak operation near to Dalmuir train station yesterday, two weeks to the day after he was last seen.

Officers managed to speak to more than 350 members of the public who frequent the local area to glean more information about Stuart's whereabouts.

Inspector David Quinn of Clydebank Police Office said on Sunday: "Today’s operation was carried out to try to find out more information regarding the whereabouts of Stuart Clark and the response from members of the public was very positive.

“This was definitely a worthwhile exercise, with officers speaking to a significant number of drivers and pedestrians and any potential new leads will be passed on to the inquiry team to follow up.

“Stuart hasn’t been heard from for two weeks now and his friends and family are extremely worried about him.

“I would continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen him or who knows where he is to please contact police on 101.”

There has also been an unconfirmed sighting of Stuart near to the Mackintosh Bar on the corner of Swindon Street and Dumbarton Road, Dalmuir on Monday, January 18 around 2pm.

He is white, around 6ft 2in tall and of medium build with red hair and a beard.

He wears glasses and has a distinctive stilted walk.  He is believed to be wearing a dark-coloured waterproof jacket and was carrying a black/grey rucksack.

Stuart has been reported missing before and has previously been found in Mallaig and Old Kilpatrick and there is a possibility that he has travelled out of the Clydebank area.
