A DUNTOCHER man who sent an offensive text message to a woman has appeared in court.
David McGuire previously pleaded guilty sending the grossly offensive text, which included swearing, abusive and threatening language, on February 25 this year.
The 25-year-old, of Glenhead Crescent, ! appeared for sentencing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week.
Philip Lafferty, defending, said his client accepted he had been “entirely wrong” in the manner he had behaved but explained: “The offence was a response to some particular remarks which, rightly or wrongly, Mr McGuire felt were unfair.”
Sheriff Craig Turnbull told McGuire: “The comments you made were particularly unpleasant.
“Now that I have seen the background, it does not in any way forgive what you did, which was frankly appalling.”
McGuire was fined £300, to be paid within seven days.
