DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a man was deliberately knocked down in a garage forecourt on Tuesday night.

Police are treating the incident at Shell Garage on Great Western Road as attempted murder.

The 47-year-old victim was apparently involved in an argument outside the shop at around 11.20pm - before being mowed down by a grey coloured car.

Police are treating the incident as attempted murder.

Detective Constable Craig Bate, from Clydebank CID, said: “We understand that prior to the incident, there was some sort of altercation between the victim and the driver of the car within the forecourt of the Shell Garage.

“The victim then walked out onto Great Western Road where he was deliberately struck by the vehicle.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact officers on 101. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where all callers will remain anonymous.”
