ACCLAIMED Scottish three-piece Be Charlotte will hit the road to promote new single One Drop.

Fresh from playing at Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations and completing a whirlwind tour of Asia and Europe, the trio will be bringing their sweet synth sounds to venues across the country next month.

Frontwoman Charlotte Brimner told the Advertiser: "I'm excited to be doing our first Scottish tour and working on changing the show up a little bit for the next tour to make it the best it has ever been.

"We've just come home from touring in Europe and in Asia so this will be a good chance to play our songs in cities we are more familiar with.

"The audience can expect 100 per cent into every song."

Comprised of Charlotte (programming, guitar, keys, vocals), James Smith (keyboard, bass) and David Calder (drums), the trio transcend between pop, hip-hop and indie-electro with beautiful beats and soaring soundscapes.

One Drop - inspired by the sense of once something is done, it can’t be changed - has already been championed by BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens and has charted in the viral Top 50 on Spotify.

Charlotte said: "When I perform the songs, they are written about real things, scenarios and people in my life, so I really feel it every time we perform them. Although our music is pop it is also very personal and I hope people can get that from the gigs."

Be Charlotte will be playing at Madhatters in Inverness (February 15), PJ Molloys in Dunfermline (February 16), Glasgow's Garage (February 17), Edinburgh's Electric Circus (February 18) and the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen (February 19).

The band will also be playing at the special Carnival56 event launch party at Fat Sam's in Dundee on March 3.

Charlotte said: "It's so exciting to have a new festival in Dundee, and I am delighted to have been asked to play. The launch night will be my first Be Charlotte gig there so that's pretty cool too."

The trio will then head across the pond to play SXSW 2017 in Austin, Texas.

Charlotte added: "I feel like it's the right time for us to officially take our music to the festival.

"I love the whole vibe of Austin, it's such a cool place and I'm delighted that we will get to take our music there.

"I'll also be delivering a talk during the interactive sessions with Cambridge scientist Dr Kate Stone (Novalia). It'll be an exciting trip."
