CLYDEBANK suffered only their third league defeat of the season last week but will need to improve quickly to stay in the title race.

Budgie McGhie's side were mauled 4-2 at Glenhead Park by bottom club St Anthony's — a result which meant they fell two points behind league leaders, Cumbernauld United.

The Bankies returned to action after a four-week break but instead of being refreshed and hungry for action, McGhie's lacklustre stars got what they deserved against a side who are fighting for their lives.

A mixture of poor defending and bad finishing cost the home outfit dear and the Bankies gaffer will be looking to forget all about the shock defeat, starting with a win away to 11th placed Glasgow Perthshire
