Bankies to sign John Jack
DEAL: John Jack
BANKIES are on the brink of signing John Jack — the older brother of fans’ favourite Alan.
John, 34, has knocked back a new deal from current club Beith and is all set to be reunited with his wee brother, the Clydebank player of the year.
The two clubs have agreed terms and John will join his new team mates for training tonight (Wednesday).
The no-nonsense midfielder, who stepped up from amateur level to Shettleston in 2000 upon the advice of his younger brother, is delighted at the prospect of working with his sibling once more.
He told Sport Scene: “I’m chuffed at the move and hopefully I can make an impact with Clydebank.
"Alan has told me a lot about it and it was the only place I wanted to go.
“I had an offer from Beith but I said no and straight away I was picking up the phone to see if the move was possible.
“It will be good to team up with Alan again but all that really matters is I just want to do the best for Clydebank. I will play wherever the team needs me to. If Budgie needs a centre-half, a left-back or even a right-back I will do it.”
