13 PLAYERS RE-SIGN

A DELIGHTED Budgie McGhie ensured the nucleus of the Bankies squad will remain at the club.

But the Clydebank gaffer was forced to accept several key players, including goalkeeper Barry John Corr, will not be pulling on the club colours again.

Signed on new one year deals are: Stefan Gonet, Alan Jack, Paul Allum, Mark Hailstones, Kevin Proctor, Mark Bowie, Davie Fisher, Martin McInnes, Sinclair Soutar, John Cunningham, Barry Docherty, Jerry Packham and Peter Jordan.

Business and family commitments mean Corr has departed his hometown club just seven months after his arrival.

Also departing is Colin Sutherland who has been released, while McGhie looks certain to lose James Lennox to Kirkintilloch RobRoy.

And another four players look on their way out. But with the addition of left-back Gary Lynn, ex Campsie 21s forward Andrew Selkirk and St Peter’s U21 midfielder Martin McIntyre, McGhie will not be too disheartened.

Brian Miller is currently on trial with senior outfit Queen’s Park while Andy Kenna, Gordon Lappin and Paul Craig have yet to agree to new deals.

McGhie said: “I am pleased but football is not played on a piece of paper so the hard work is still ahead.

“There is no point in dwelling on the players who have decided to leave, and in any case, there are likely to be a few new faces before the season starts.”
