FALKIRK star Kieran Duffy has been handed a second chance to pull on the national jersey.
The former St Andrew’s High pupil missed out on a Scotland cap at U16 level after damaging his ankle ligaments.
But the 16-year-old from Clydebank, who has just signed a new three year deal at Falkirk, has been named in the U17s squad for the Nordic Cup held in Sweden next month.
The Scotland team will play at least three games in Gothenburg and the 6ft 1in right back cannot wait.
He said: “I am absolutely over the moon as I was gutted to miss out before.
“I knew the coaches were keeping an eye on me for the next tournament but it still came as a nice surprise.”
Kieran, who started full-time training with the Bairns last week, added: “I’d love to get into the Falkirk first team squad. I’ll just keep working hard.”
