WIN: David Fisher takes a tackle

IT was the Battle of the Bankies last Saturday but there was only ever going to be one winner.

Budgie McGhie’s side were in rampant form and scored three wonderful goals in a one-sided affair.

Paul Allum settled the nerves with a fine volley which flew high into the net. Mark Hailstones doubled the lead, capping off a move of no fewer than 13 passes when he fired home at the near post after Brian Miller split the Annbank defence.

Barry John Corr pulled off a great stop in the second half to deny the Ayrshire Bankies a route back into the match.

Clydebank passed up several more chances to extend their lead before Peter Jordan, with two minutes to go, capped off a fine individual display.

His great right foot shot curled over Annbank keeper McGarrity into the net.
