ELEVEN young athletes completed the Balfron Aquathon on Sunday.

Cody Stevenson finished second in the race for 8-year-olds (50m swim 1k run) in a total time of 7 minutes 55 seconds and Greg Martin was sixth in 10.10.

Ritchie Austin was the winner of the race for nine and 10-year-olds (150m swim, 2k run) in a time of 13 minutes 20 seconds followed by Peter Gallagher fifth (15.09), Adam Martin 7th (16.06) and Angus Moffat 10th in (20.48).

Lucie Stevenson was sixth girl to finish this race in a time of 21.38. Jack Austin won the race for 11 and 12-year-olds (200m swim 2k run) in a total time of 12.41, Martin Douglas was 2nd in 13.11 and Rory Stevenson finished 8th in 18:49.

Marc Austin won the race for 13 and 14-year-olds (400m swim, 3k run) in a time of 17.19.

Two Garscube runners were in action in the Kilmarnock 10k Road Race last Wednesday. Ali Winship was first lady to finish in a time of 40 minutes 27 seconds and Euan Mackay finished in 15th place in 38 minutes.

Garscube Harriers next fixtures are the Scottish Athletics Grand Prix Open Graded Meeting at Linwood Sports Complex on Wednesday May 28 with the first events commencing at 7pm and the Polaroid Clydebank 10k Road Race on Thursday May 29 starting at 7.30pm.
