Watt a time to be back
YOKER Athletic face a massive week with two huge games in a matter of days.
The Whe-Ho visited Castle Park last night (Tuesday) to face Blantyre Vics in a league match which they had to win to keep themselves in contention for a promotion place.
Then follows a cup tie at home to St Roch’s on Friday evening, with the quarter finals in their sights.
The Whe-Ho defeated the relegation threatened Vics 1-0 at Holm Park on the opening day of the league campaign.
The goalscorer on that day was leading marksman David Watt (pictured), who returned to the squad after a lay off through injury.
Looking back on the recent slip up against the Bens, the big striker is under no illusions as to the challenge ahead.
He said: “The Benburb game was a massive disappointment.
“Every single player in the dressing room knew it was two points dropped in the promotion chase.
“But it’s done now and we have to get back to winning games again.”
Skipper Scott McKay also returned to the starting line-up last night, further boosting the team’s squad.
Kick off on Friday is 6.45pm.
